How can something so tiny be so awesome?
Newborns are amazing. For the first few weeks of their lives, they are the most perfect and fragile little things. That stage is over so quickly! Blink and you’ll miss it. Within a few short weeks, their bodies start to stretch , they become stronger and more aware of the world around them, and very quickly they go from being tiny, delicate little newborns to real-life miniature people. As a mum of three amazing little girls, I know too well how quickly that time goes by. I know how important it is to document that time and to remember how tiny they once were. Newborn photography as an art form is something I feel really passionately about, so I have taken a long time and a lot of training with some amazing photographers in order to perfect capturing that precious stage of their lives and hone my skills as a newborn photographer in Exeter and Devon. I completed an inspiring newborn photography course with multi-award winning and world renowned newborn photographer Kelly Brown, of Little Pieces Photography, last year I was fortunate enough to have worked and trained with the incredible Ann Wo and I recently trained with the amazeballs Maggie Robinson, of Dinky Feet Photography. Today, I specialise in newborn and baby photography in Newton Abbot, Exeter and Devon. I have a photography studio in Newton abbot, in Devon, which is specially set up for newborn and baby photography. It’s very warm and natural, and a wonderful environment for newborns! The most important thing with newborn photography is safety: and you can be rest assured that your little ones will be in very safe hands.
For a successful newborn photography shoot, baby needs to be asleep. Shoots typically last around 2 – 3 hours. You’re more than welcome to bring along siblings or other family members, and I’d love to photograph you and your partner with your new addition. The studio is a warm and safe environment for newborns, and is tailored to help keep him or her asleep and content. You’ll be expected to do nothing at all other than sit down and relax while I capture some precious images of baby, I may sneak in a couple of extra cuddles though! The amount of newborns and babies I take on each year is very limited, and to ensure I can provide the best service for my clients, I have to be very strict with that limit. It’s also very important that the first shoot takes place before your baby is three weeks old, before they’re not a newborn anymore! I book up well in advance, so if you’re keen to capture those precious first weeks, I would strongly advise that you book as soon as possible. Most of my clients tend to book sometime around their 20 week scan. This way, I can guarantee that I will fit your baby into my schedule when he or she makes their arrival. Bookings are only secure upon payment of the shoot price.
